Coated Fabrics

PyroSil™ is a second generation, non-toxic, low smoke, no odor, low heat release, intumescent, refractory fire resistant, flexible coated fabric.  It provides outstanding durability, flexibility, dirt resistance, washablity, moisture, UV and mildew protection.

In a fire, the acrylic coated side expands to create a highly effective, thermally resistive char barrier. The char resists the conductive penetration of hot gasses and flames and also absorbs smoke into its matrix, thus lowering the toxic by-products of the fire. It reduces flame spread, and slows the progression of a fire. On glass faabrics, it creates a refractory layer that reduces the penetration of infared heat at well. All of this combines to slow the progression and penetration of a fire, allows for better evacuation of inhabitants, slows the onset of flashover and gives Fire Fighters more time to respond to a fire by working to contain the fire to the place of origin.
